Inspired by his grandmother, Magdalena, who taught him how to cook in her kitchen in Monterrey, Mexico, Chef Juan Rodriguez founded Magdalena’s in 2014 alongside his wife Paige.

Born in Chicago, Rodriguez grew up spending summers with Magdalena, learning how to select the best cuts of meat from the butcher’s shop, make tortillas by hand and prepare paella over an open flame. As an adult, Rodriguez followed his passion to Dallas, where he earned his Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts from The Art Institute.

He spent the next 15 years working at top restaurants around the country, eventually becoming Executive Chef at Reata. After more than eight years at Reata, Rodriguez decided to launch his own business, providing off-site catering for weddings, corporate events and other private events.

Since 2011, Paige Rodriguez has been in the hospitality industry bringing people together with her passion and positivity. Each career move has enhanced her knowledge, creativity, and love for events. In 2015, she and her husband opened Magdalena’s Catering and Events, combining his love of cooking with her event planning skills. As a mother of two active boys, Paige skillfully balances mom life and business. She delights in creating memorable celebrations, leveraging her keen eye for detail and calming demeanor to build lasting connections.

James grew up in Saginaw, Michigan, and moved to Texas a decade ago in search of better career opportunities. A natural leader, he has excelled in various leadership roles throughout his professional journey. With over 12 years in the catering industry, James has spent 9.5 years at Magdalena's, where he now serves as an Operational Lead. Outside of work, James enjoys bowling, jogging, and reading, activities that keep him balanced, energized, and connected to his interests.

WEDDING CATERING SALES MANAGER

Raised in North Texas, Natalee Baker discovered her passion for the wedding industry early on. She pursued a degree in Hospitality with a minor in Business at Stephen F. Austin State University. In 2021, Natalee joined Magdalena's where she excels in overseeing onsite events, food truck management and her favorite role, wedding coordination. Her genuine love for interacting with couples and contributing to their special day shines through in her work. From initial tastings to menu curation and presence on the big day, Natalee ensures everything goes smoothly.

Rhayne is a catering coordinator at Magdalena’s, specializing in Corporate Events. She started her career in the event industry in her hometown of Mammoth Lakes, CA. In her free time, Rhayne enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her three rescue animals.

A proud graduate of Tarleton State University, her passion for the event industry blossomed while working for the town of Stephenville. Her extensive internship experience has shaped her positive attitude with clients and her enthusiasm for every new event she takes on.

Darce, a Houston native, joined Magdalena's in the summer of 2020, bringing her passion for cooking and strong leadership to the team. She leads the chef team with enthusiasm and creativity, consistently delivering exceptional culinary experiences. Known for her drive and attention to detail, Darce is dedicated to crafting personalized menus, making her an invaluable asset to Magdalena's. Her positive energy and commitment to excellence continue to elevate the dining experience at every event.

Alberto joined Magdalena's in 2016 and has since become a key leader, infusing his authentic Mexican heritage into the culinary experience. Passionate about expanding his creative horizons, he incorporates elements of Japanese culture into his dishes, blending diverse flavors and techniques to add a unique dimension to the menu. His professionalism and creativity have made a lasting impact, enriching the culinary team's dynamics. Alberto's positive attitude creates a joyful and inspiring work environment, making him a valued member of the team.

Sous Chef Christopher Spradlin joined Magdalena’s in 2021, bringing a deep passion for culinary excellence and a drive for innovation. With a background in wine studies, he quickly became a key team member, focusing on Supper Club and In-Home Chef Experiences. Chef Chris is known for elevating the dining experience at Magdalena’s Supper Club through his creativity in menu development and exploration of global flavors.

Chef Chris graduated with Honors from both the University of North Texas and Tarrant County College Culinary School. He holds an Advanced Sommelier Certification, Level 3, from the Wine & Spirits Education Trust in London, and is a certified Project Management Professional. In 2022, he was honored as Culinary Student of the Year by the Texas Chefs Association.

Will, a Baltimore native, is a dedicated chef lead whose culinary journey began at the Culinary School of Fort Worth. Raised on a farm, he developed a profound passion for food and a strong work ethic that he applies to his culinary career. Known for his helpful nature and teamwork, Will consistently brings joy to both colleagues and clients. His background and enthusiasm for cooking ensure memorable dining experiences for everyone who enjoys his dishes.

Alejandro Guerrero, a Fort Worth native, has transformed his passion for BBQ into a vibrant culinary career. After graduating from The Culinary School of Fort Worth, he joined the Magdalena’s team in 2021. Now serving as a Tasting Chef and Event Lead, Alejandro combines skill and creativity to craft exceptional dining experiences. His dedication to excellence is evident in every dish he creates.

Outside of work, Alejandro enjoys cooking for family and friends and continues to explore the culinary arts, seeking new inspiration and techniques to refine his craft. His journey is a testament to his dedication and genuine love for uniting people through food.
